2021 Hyundai Elantra

The Hyundai Elantra was completely redesigned for the 2021 model year, but it still remains the stylish and efficient sedan that Florence drivers love. The Hyundai Elantra mpg reaches an impressive 43 mpg highway, so you can spend less time at the gas station and more time on the open roads of Muscle Shoals. Learn more about the Hyundai Elantra gas mileage with Greenway Hyundai of the Shoals as well as what features contribute to the outstanding Elantra mpg.

Hyundai Elantra Gas Mileage by Trim

The Hyundai Elantra gas mileage varies depending on the trim level you prefer. While each option in the Elantra lineup is both sporty and efficient, you may be drawn to a specific trim level based on its performance or fuel economy. The Elantra mpg is listed by trim level below:

  • Elantra SE: 33 mpg city/43 mpg highway
  • Elantra SEL: 31 mpg city/41 mpg highway
  • Elantra N Line: 25 mpg city/34 mpg highway
  • Elantra Limited: 31 mpg city/41 mpg highway

What Makes the Elantra MPG So Impressive?

The SE, SEL, and Limited are outfitted with a 2.0L MPI Atkinson Cycle engine that has a focus on fuel economy, improving mpg ratings over previous model years. This engine is paired with the Smartstream® Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), which puts the Elantra at the top of its class in terms of fuel economy. The Smartstream® Intelligent Variable Transmission simulates the gear shifts of a traditional automatic transmission. Based on driving conditions and the input of the driver, this IVT performs continuous shifts by the modulating pressure of the transmission’s pulley. Fuel economy is improved because the wide-ratio pulley system provides a broader ratio of operation.

Hyundai Elantra Hybrid

For the 2021 model year, Decatur drivers can also expect a Hyundai Elantra hybrid model. This is the first time ever that the Elantra is available with a hybrid powertrain. It will be equipped with a 1.6L GDI Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine paired with a permanent-magnet electric motor. The Elantra hybrid proves that you do not have to sacrifice performance for fuel economy.
